The human right-watch organizations are once again trying to demonize the Eritrean people and government. As an Eritrean, when I read articles like these in the past, I usually got mad and frustrated. But now I pity the ever frustrated attempt of organizations and intelligence agencies who want undermine the determination of the Eritrean people on their goal of self-reliance and self-determination. The continuously attack and demonization of the Eritrean government and people have made the people more conscious and could smell the stinking lies from a long distance and could NOT deceive the Eritrean people any more. More over the frustration, of the morally bankrupted constructors of these kinds of propaganda and lists of human rights and watches, have come to a ridicules low level.
I will try to explain the reasons
1. 1. In history we see the western countries acting as pirate states, looting and colonizing other people’s land was their way of life. The evidences are still here, for instance the fate of Aborigines in Australia, the Indians and the African Americans, the instability of Africa etc. is result of these pirate character of the western. In the past it is well known history that the western countries were the main actors of colonialism and slavery and now they are the architects of vicious involvements in other countries internal affairs and staging and flaming up conflicts in order to secure interest by compromising other peoples existence and stability. We have seen these organizations acting to widespread propagandas with ulterior motives. With time it’s getting obvious that these “human right” organizations are tools of intelligence agencies and serves some western countries agendas.
If they where a genuine advocates of human right they would report any human-right abuse whether it’s committed by for ex USA or England. A sensible person could ask why these organizations could not see the systematical human right abuse of the Afro-Americans in USA. for instance
a. In the USA African American youths arrested for murder are at least three times more likely than their white peers to receive life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
b. The United States is one of the few countries in the world where minors receive the same criminal punishments as adults, It is the only country in the world that sentences children to life in prison without possibility of parole or release
c. The United States has a string of records of trampling on the sovereignty of and violating human rights in other countries
The list is long. But for the reasons that these “organizations” serve the elite in the USA and are the tool of the intelligence agencies of countries who try to dominate and drain other countries resources, their reports are concentrated on the countries that are targeted by the western countries are based on lies, demonization and illusory stories.
2. 2. May be for someone who lives in a villa/ apartment, driving whatever car, consuming about 100 times of the earth’s resource comparing to an average African man, human rights might have other definition. But for the Eritreans, it’s about getting clean drinking water, to have enough food, to have a shelter, to have adequate health care and education to the whole population, which the Eritrean government can be named as an example on providing these. As an example we could mention Eritrea’s achievements on reducing malaria mortality, reducing infant mortality, providing clean drinking water and electricity and the ever growing chance of education in even very remote areas are exemplary.
3. 3. The Eritrean people have endured and prevailed various attempts by the western countries especially by the US to undermine the very existence of Eritrea. If we look at the past 60 years Eritrean history, the main actor who tried and is trying to undermine the Eritrean right of freedom is the US. the US has masterminded the unjust federation with Ethiopia in 1950, the US helped Hailesilasie annexation of Eritrea in 1962, the US tried to hinder the 1993 referendum, the US helped Ethiopia and gave green light to attack Eritrea in 1998, the US is main obstacle in resolving the border issue since 2002, the US masterminded the resolution 1907 to sanction Eritrea in 2009. So when these forces who tried to eradicate Eritrea from the map of the world, say they care about the human rights of Eritrea, it’s nothing than a joke!
So when the Eritrean people witnessing the tremendous achievements in every day basis, trying to insult the people’s intelligence by demonizing the government is not only futile but also ridicules.
